9 out of 10 dentists prefer...

I was so worried today about my dentist appointment because my teeth have gone way downhill since they saw me before getting pregnant with Marissa. My dentist and I had a huge treatment plan worked up before of course and i needed a lot of work but put it to the side since i was preggo. And yes, my teeth have gotten a LOT worse since then as i figured it would (you know, posts falling out, teeth breaking, fillings breaking, the whole nine, LOL). Anyway, i went in there thinking i was going to get reamed and come out feeling all ashamed and so forth. It's not that they have ever really made me feel bad but sometimes the hygenists do make me feel like scum because they are the ones that have the job to explain all the stuff about what i've been doing to my teeth and then I feel guilty (as I rightfully should feel guilty!!). But today, i only got the small lecture on soda-drinking. phew. I was glad they said i was doing a good job brushing at least. LOL! She didn't have time to clean them though so still gotta get that done. And of course, stop drinking so much soda. Wah!

The dentist was great as always. It was actually his day off and I was supposed to be seen by his partner but he came in for a cleaning himself so he did my exam since they were backed up. Yay! Now i have "phase one" appointments set up to save my front top teeth. I guess if I had waited another 6 months, it might've been too late. Also a referral to the oral surg for wisdom extraction and another tooth extraction... and of course a bunch of other "to-dos". They prescribed this new mouthwash (i think it's new because where the heck was it 10 years ago when i started having so many problems?). This stuff is supposed to slow the decay because it kills ALL the bacteria in your mouth. I am hoping it does the job so that I don't end up with a partial on top. I can deal with root canals and crowns but i am not looking forward to being able to remove my teeth quite yet.

tooling along...

Well, not much happening in this neck of the woods. I have just been trying to get things in order... at work, at home, in my head... LOL

Thanksgiving was fun. My brother and Kurt's brother didn't come - lazy bums! Oh well, just ended up having my mom over. She pretty much ruled the kitchen. Frustrating but okay by me at the same time if you know what I mean. Here is a layout with the placecards that I started this year. I am so going to have to make this a tradition. Not like I'll forget... my kids tend to cling to details so i'm sure they'll remind me next year. :)

I have a feeling it's going to turn out to be a lousy week. Nice attitude, eh? LOL, that'll come true with an attitude like that... but for real. It's only Monday and the week after long weekends is always the most dreadful. Bleh! December is fast upon us and I am not yet panicked but that'll come really soon. :P Ahhh well.

what is WRONG with me?

Totally having one of those blah days. A friend and I went to get our eyebrows done so while we were there, decided to get our nails done, too. I haven't had nails in years but thought they might make me feel better. Bah, not really... although they do look nice an shiny. ;-)

I need to do so many things but lately seem to be in this laundry-cleaning funk. Seems like all I can manage to do is do laundrey and clean things here and there. Nothing major enough to notice so it doesn't give me that "yahoo - i got a lot of crap done" feeling. Know what I mean?

Probably just the ho hum winter blues already. It is COLD here! -13 ... If I'm cold already, not sure I'll last through the entire winter. Got another 6 months to go and at least 30 degrees colder. I thought it was going to be a mild winter bur somehow I think I might be wrong about that.

Ok, i think i've griped enough for now. Maybe i'll go watch something comedic for a possible attitude change. LOL!

How about a sneak for December kits at ScrapAddict?

Oink

Funny family conversation:

Last night, Gia was playing with little plastic animals and wanted to show them to me. I said...

Me: What are their names?
Gia: Animals can't have names!
Dad: Well the dog is named Sweetie and the cat's name is Q-Tip! Don't YOU have a name!?!
Gia: Daaaaaad, I'm not an animal!
Me: Sure you are! Humans are animals, too.
Gia: (pause while she thinks about this)
Orion: Yeah. I eat like a pig!!!

pooped

... in so many ways. :P

Had fun at the halloween party... i got to play musical chairs! Boy, it's been a long time since i've done that.

Just finished one page for an assigned kit but not feeling the flow tonight like i thought i would. I got all excited and then when I went to work, i lost my steam. They were older photos, though... and those have been harder for me to do lately. I think maybe i'll scrap some newer ones tomorrow instead.

I fell so behind this weekend with everything. I didn't even get groceries for the week. Now i'm scratching my head about what i should pack in Orion's lunch tomorrow because we have no bread. LOL... maybe it'll be a hot lunch day.

Gotta go finish the laundry and stuff now before i accidentally fall asleep too early again.

Layout i did last week for a challenge on ScrapAddict... wish she was still this little.

party time

Fixing to go to a "late" halloween party. Long story and I won't bore ya. ;) Hopefully I'll get some pics of the kids in their costumes. I missed it on Halloween night due to not doing it before the trick or treating. Then Gia passed out shortly after we got home. Marissa of course, too... and I didn't even take her trick or treating! LOL

Last night was a bomb. I fell asleep all early... what's with me falling asleep early on weekend nights but staying up all hours on weekdays? *grumble* Needless to say, no scrapping again but I'm so aching to scrap. Why can't I just press life's pause button to go scrap? Wouldn't that be great? hehee

Kool Aid

funny clip from shorties watchin shorties by dane cook

Dane Cook's so funny! Thanks for showing me the light, Karen! ;)

bagless blahs

I totally have the blahs today. I am procrastinating... as usual... but I only feel half guilty about it. I think it's the cold. I just want to curl up and sleep.

Went and bought a new vacuum today. The old one bit the dust (errr... it stopped biting the dust ;P ) Just got the typical cheapest one I could find - bagless of course. Whoever thought up the bagless vacuum is a freaking genious. I can't remember the last time I fought to get a bag off spilling dirt everywhere and then fighting to get the bag on (that is if I bought the right bags, LOL)

i *heart* James Dyson - inventor of the dual cyclonic vacuum

Okay, enough talk about cleaning devices. I don't vacuum anyway. lmbo... the good ol' hubby takes care of that one. I'd rather clean the toilet than vacuum if that puts things in perspective.

Anywho, I'm going to go scrap or something. I leave you with kind of an old digital layout I did this past summer but just found it cleaning out the files on my computer... never before seen on tv! ha! It's not the greatest but one day I was just tinkering around and made it.

Is it over yet?

I'm barely peeking through my tired eyes here. Why do I get so exhausted lately? It is hardly 2 in the morning and I'm so ready for bed.

The roads were craptastic today, again. I may have to start driving the Durango because I am starting to get the white knuckle grip on the wheel. The only thing I hate about the Durango is that it is a gas guzzler.... 4wd on or off, it sucks down the fuel. That, and I hate parking it! LOL, i like my little Grand Am because i can just hop in and out really quick, park it quick (no 10 point turns, lmbo) and it's super easy on the gas. I dunno, maybe I should just go get some studded tires. I just don't feel like dropping $500 on tires. Can think of LOTS more fun stuff to do than buy stinking tires (see below *G*)!

It's Friday as of 2 hours ago and in 6 hours, I will be serving my last 8 hours before the weekend. Nice way to break it down, eh? I can't wait. I don't have anything planned per se, but anything but work is where i'm at. :-)

Marissa is finally turning over. I was beginning to worry that she was going to be a lazy butt like me! LOL, kidding. She's just pretty big and I'm sure that was why she wasn't doing it on "sched". Now if you lay her on the floor, she will scoot around and stuff. The fun begins. Wah! I no time she will be crawling (or rolling if she's like Orion) and then walking around tearing everything up. hehe. I'm not too worried about her wrecking stuff or getting hurt too much. We have always had a pretty baby-proofed home. I mean, I don't have breakable stuff really... other than electronics. I just have to think of something to do with the open wall at the stairs. She might crawl right out and fall down to the main level. I think maybe we'll just rip out the shelving and put in some posts. I don't want to drywall it even halfway up because i'll miss being able to see who's walking through the door.

Actually made a nice dinner again tonight and nobody was interested. This is why I hate cooking. The kids ate but Orion's kind of sick and Gia was just in one of her whiny moods. Couldn't wake Kurt up for nothing so ended up giving the dog his Cornish game hen. *sigh* Oh well I guess. I haven't had much of an appetite lately. For the most part, I just eat around 2 or 3 pm and that's it for the day. I keep myself filled up on caffeine. :-(

I've had a bad couple of weeks. I started to feel like I was falling apart. I always get like this and tell myself to make some life changes... but never do. I know why I feel like this - it's because I don't take care of myself. Grr! Anyway, back to the reason things started to go downhill... So I went to the eye doctor on Wednesday last week and they tell me that I may be at risk for glaucoma. Guess my records from 2 years ago showed that my nerves were a lot longer than they are today. So even though they said my eyes seemed healthy, they thought it was strange that the nerves had such a dramatic change (i'm thinking, hello... i just had a baby, it's probably due to malnutrition! LOL). Anywho, they set me up to get some testing done in a few weeks. Yay. I swear this better just be nothing. So the next morning, I am brushing my hair and once in awhile, I get some gray/silver hair and pull it out. Well as I was brushing (granted, I've LOST a lot of hair in the past month due to hormone shifting) and see like massive gray spots. :-( Time to get it dyed I think... almost. Then at work that day I am eating a chewy granola bar (not the crunchy kind) and a freaking tooth breaks off with part of the filling with it. Just what I need before a dentist visit. They are going to be pissed at me. I haven't been in a year and a half or so (since I got pregnant with Marissa) and so lots of crap has happened to my mouth since then. I couldn't get my wisdom teeth out and then I lost a the post from a 12 year old root canal. The tooth went a long time ago so now it's just an open gaping hole. I have horrible teeth already but pregnancy seems to do quite a number on them. argh. I just can't win. I feel like I may as well of gotten dentures a long time ago instead of trying to fix them.

That's only the tip of the iceberg but the most memorable things that made me step back and say "whoa... what happened to me?" Eyes bad, hair bad, teeth bad. DANGIT! The only good news is that I lost a little bit more weight (no pats on the back cuz i didn't do anything to lose it). I just have maybe 28 lbs to go until my short term goal and about 53 until my long term goal. I'm hoping to be at my short term goal at least by June. That is what...? 8 months? Think I can lose 4 lbs a month? I really need to buckle down and start working out. Don't count how many times I've said that in the past year. LOL!

Ok, well i'm going to go shut my eyes. I want to get the sleep over so i can get to the work quicker to start the weekend sooner. hehehe.
