Late night

Lots accomplished today. I am tired but I don't know why I'm not in bed yet. Oh yeah, my cough is acting up and I'm waiting for the nyquil to kick in.

We are recording a screen/voice tutorial at work and have that almost complete. Thank goodness it's not my voice (I'm doing the screen work) because I feel pretty horse still and my voice is squeakier than my car door that needs some WD-40 or whatever that squeaky stuff is called. hehe. During one take, I felt a cough coming on and I was trying my darndest not to cough by telling myself "don't do it, don't cough..." and then I lost it. I started giggling to myself that I was talking in my head like that was going to stop it by saying this stuff. I don't know why it was so funny to me but might've had something to do with it being like 4:30/end of the day giggles. You had to be there I guess. LOL - Of course, I ruined the thing because when I started coughing/laughing, Shirley "Golden Voice" started laughing, too and we had to start over.

During lunch, I ran over to the rental car place to pick up a rental since Kurt's rig is still a big ol' question mark. It's a Subaru Impreza and although it handles nicely being AWD, it's the grocery-getter from hell! LOL, I decided to take the blow and drive it rather than make Kurt feel demasculated. @@ He's going to drive my car. It's nothing to gawk at either - Grand Am - but it looks a lot better than this rental Subaru! Not quite embarassed driving it but just about... feels like i'm driving a wood panelled station wagon. Not that there's anything wrong with that at all, it's just not ME and I've never driven something quite this ugly. Trust me, I've driven some GHETTO cars but nothing like this. I'm not even sure who would want to buy a car this ugly. LOL

No word on the Durango. Kurt got the runaround from the body shop today on the phone. Oh well, maybe we'll hear back tomorrow.

Orion apparently got sent to the principal's office today. He got warned for talking in class and he must have kept on. Kurt got the call and he said Orion was crying so I guess he learned his lesson. Kurt told him he had to apologize to the teacher, the class and the principal for wasting all of their time. I had a good conversation with him tonight when I got home. Hopefully, that's the last we'll hear from the principal about that.

Tonight we ordered in dinner. Chinese. I eat a lot of take out Chinese at work (like once every couple weeks) but we hardly ever get it at home. It was a nice change of pace for once. Something other than McDonalds or Carl's Jr! Not feeling like cooking lately. I seem to go in spurts. One week I'm making pot roasts, steaks, chili, and all sorts and another week I can barely drag myself into the kitchen to make a sandwich. This week seems to be eat out week.

I polished off some scraps tonight and made 9 cards. I really enjoy making cards but I never actually use them. It sucks. I just give them away so someone else can have fun with them. I don't know why but I never think to give cards out. At least the scraps are gone and I don't have to feel bad about hoarding paper scraps, though. Yay.

I better get to sleep. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. I think it's just a cleaning. I would rather get dental work done than get my teeth cleaned. It doesn't hurt or anything as the hygenist is really good and gentle but I usually get the talking to every time I go. Talking to's about quitting my Dr. Pepper habit. Talking to's about flossing more often. I realize that's her job and all and I truly do appreciate the kick in the ass but it always makes me feel bad about myself afterward... Know what I mean? It's not her fault I feel like that because really - I should be doing the things she says but it's just one of those things you just don't want to hear about most of the time. "Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know," but I never change.

Have a good Wednesday!

Does someone have a case of the Mondays?

What a day! I hate Mondays but survived work at least. Wish it was still the weekend because I'm still sick. I spent the day feeling old and in need of a hearing aid. My ears are clogged up due to congestion. The kids seem to be feeling a little bit better, too. They aren't 100% yet but getting there.

The good news is that I got a layout done this weekend. Four months of no scrapping but I broke the cycle yesterday. :)

I had the photos printed from awhile ago and they were laying with the papers so all I had to do was put the thing together pretty much. Hurrah. Now I can't wait until I have the energy to scrap again. LOL

Kurt should find out whether or not his truck is totalled tomorrow morning. I'm praying it's fixable because we owe $20,000 on it and it's worth about $18,000. Would love a new car but honestly, new car shopping is a pain in the rear and I'm not up for all that.

Ok, I'm really tired and am going to fix dinner and veg until I fall asleep. Have a great week!

I just got shocked...

by my power cord on my laptop. LOL! I was blowing on it because it wasn't connecting to charge and I accidentally stuck my tongue on it and got a little electrical jolt. hehee

What a day! The morning started off with a.... HURL! Kurt was hurling all morning. Not good since today was the swimming birthday party. I urged him to stay home and rest but he insisted he wasn't leaving me high and dry. I said a silent prayer... "yessss...." and then we all proceded to get ready for the day. Showers were had by all. Orion went last and so by this time, the bathroom was a bit steamy and hot. After being in there for about 10 minutes, Kurt had gone in to brush his teeth or something. Orion peeks out the curtain and says, "I don't feel good, I can't breathe." Kurt tells him it's because he didn't turn the fan on and as he goes to do that, Orion faints and falls down. He almost fell into the door. I flipped when I heard the crash and Kurt was asking if he was okay. Just the tone in his voice made me jump up and knock everything over to get to the bathroom. He was only out for like a second but it was SCARY for me! He said he felt weak and had a headache and didn't want to go to his own party. I convinced him that he would feel better if he drank something and also got him a piece of jelly toast. We put a birthday candle on the toast to put him in the "mood." He was still a bit reluctant and even an hour or more later, refused to go back into the bathroom to brush his teeth. LOL... but we managed to get everything together and leave the house. We got to the pool and as I was checking in, the guy asks me how old Gia is. I say 6 and he points to a sign that says that anyone 6 and under had to have an adult in the pool with them. CRAP! I read the rules when we paid the deposit but I read it as UNDER 6 and not 6 and under. Kurt had not planned on swimming because of the puking and I certainly hadn't brought a suit either. The guy offered Kurt a pair of extra shorts but Kurt was in no shape to be swimming. I tried asking a few people to come and get in the pool so Gia could swim but nobody could come do it. Finally, Kurt agreed to go and so he saved her day. She REALLY wanted to go swimming (in her words)! I felt badly about sending him in but his DayQuil must've kicked in 5 minutes into it as he was having a good time and smiling while they splashed around. A sigh of RELIEF from me. I was kind of glad he got in because he is a water guy... he was asked to be on the high school swim team but he had to say no because he was determined not to wear speedos. LOL! He hasn't really swam since high school but still looks good in the water. :P He was also glad that the borrowed shorts weren't speedos. Ha! He totally would've refused if they were.

Anyway, party done and everyone had a good day aside from the early health scares. I got nothing else accomplished really but I never truly expect to on days like this. Feeling the twinge in my throat and stuffy nose. It's inevitable. Gia has been sick since the pink-eye and then Kurt with the puking. Orion had a runny nose today. It's my turn to join the sick fan club. I'll survive. Hoping it goes quickly. Time for bed so I can drag the big butt into work tomorrow morning. Yay.

another weekend

This week went by way fast. So glad it's the weekend, though!

Tomorrow we are doing Orion's birthday party at one of the pools. I'm not sure how many kids will even show up but it's swimming... and the kids have been begging to go swimming since we went to Disneyland. I am thinking that I want to sign them up for lessons this spring. A new session starts in March. Just have to remember to go down and sign them up.

Have lots to do today. Get a cake, birthday presents, favors, etc. Laundry piled up high but I just got done cleaning Gia/Marissa's room, my room, living room, and a little bit of the kitchen and bathroom (ok, just the toilet and mirrors in there). Anyway, just wanted to pop in and get myself motivated. Hehe. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

What Does Your Candy Heart Say?

Your Candy Heart Says "Cutie Pie"

You always seem to have a hot date, even though you never try to meet anyone.
Uhmmm... yes, I'm married.

A total charmer, you have a natural appeal that keeps you in high demand.
Hmmm, is belching considered charming these days? ;)

Your ideal Valentine's Day date: multiple dates with multiple people
Ohhh... yeh, I don't roll like that.

Your flirting style: 100% natural
Versus...? 100% unnatural?

What turns you off: serious relationship talks
Anything deemed "serious relationship talks" would be a bit of a buzz kill, no?

Why you're hot: you're totally addicting
Why I'm hot: I'm a total addict. LOL!

Longest day EVER

Seems like it was the longest day ever anyway. I am so pooped. I went to work and was tired by 11:00 am. LOL... finally got off work this evening and jetted home in time for a couple of my fave shows on tv: Biggest Loser and Nip Tuck. Weee! Now it's 10:30 and time to make the kids' lunches, feed the dog, and take care of loose ends.

Got Orion's birthday party scheduled for this Sunday at one of the swimming pools here in town. I have never hosted a pool birthday party so it should be interesting. I hope the kids have fun mainly. Orion isn't much of a swimmer and last time he was in a pool with kids his age, there was crying, depantsing and so much FUN! Not. I notice he invited mainly only girls to the party. Hmmmm... ;)

Other than video games, I'm at a loss on what to get him. He's going to be 9 and owns every toy known to mankind. Okay, maybe not that many but he's got a fairly limited interest. Video games and a hoberman sphere is what he asked for. They don't have any of the hoberman spheres in town and too late to order so guess it might just be video games.

Ok, battery is almost dead on this laptop and it is not recharging for me right now so i better sign off. Here's to a good Wednesday. :)

share time

Ok, since I haven't been blogging or scrapping much, I figure it's share share time. ;) The first two pictures are from Christmas and the last is Marissa on Halloween.

I really need to get back into taking pictures. I'm usually a 500 pics a month kind of chick but for the last six months, I've just been taking like a dozen a month. Just never seem to have a camera ready it seems. Yesterday, while we were out for my birthday dinner, I said, "Gee! I should've brought my camera!" and then planned on taking some photos later that night since I forgot but nope, forgot again. Today I swore I would take some and forgot again. Who knows when I'll pick the camera again. LOL

Warmer weather today but there was a slight wind. I'm feeling much better though because the sun is like coming up before 9 am now and not setting until after 5 pm. During the day, the sun shines really bright and even though it's cold... it's still therapeutic. I'll probably start getting spring fever early this year. Maybe by the end of the month and then it'll be winter FOREVER! LOL... seems that way more and more every year. The funny thing is that I can't imagine living anywhere else. Well... maybe southern California. :) I just want a house somewhere warm for a few months out of the winter... like November to March. HA! Keep dreamin'.

It's time to pry the video game controllers out of the kids' hands, now. Until next time...!

Finally!

Yes! Finally, a free Saturday. Well, not completely free but somewhat free! Nothing's free, right? Laundry's pretty much done [check], house is somewhat clean [check]... hmmm. Amazing how freeing it gets when I don't have laundry or a filthy house. LOL! I do still need to go grocery shopping, start my mom's tax return, go get a haircut and get my eyebrows waxed, etc. Want to get that crap out of the way today so I can truly enjoy tomorrow. It's my flippin' birthday. Sigh, another notch on the belt.

My mom is supposedly going to be taking us out to eat tomorrow but with the cold temps, I'm guessing she'll want to cancel and just cook instead or something. I'm okay with that... miss her Korean food. :) Maybe, she'll make some mondu and those cold clear noodles I love.

Nothing much new here. Gia had pink eye last week and a wicked cough. Marissa is growing too fast. Orion is going to be 9 in 10 days. Eeeee! Just life.

My laptop is dying again. I had the power port repaired last year because I wasn't able to get it charged easily without twisting and manipulating the cord. It's doing it again. Ugh. Probably because the kids are always tripping and ripping and yanking the cord. Kurt opened the case up and said the inside port seems fine. He's going to try to just re-do the inside of the cord and see if that works. Anything's better than giving someone else $200 to fix such a minor problem. LOL! He just needs to take his butt to Radio Shack to find some parts. Argh. It's not like I don't have other computers but this one's my BABY! It's my only laptop. I have had it for like 5 years and there's absolutely nothing else wrong with it... and I can't imagine sitting at a desk with a computer because that's what I do ALL freakin' day at work. I dunno... I dunno. I never even barely have time to turn this thing on so losing it wouldn't be a huge deal but it would probably guarantee that I wouldn't be getting on the computer at home more than once a month. LOL! It's too difficult to baricade myself to sit at a desk with the kids around. I don't know if that makes any sense but maybe that's just a typical office employee attitude. Kurt works at a grocery store. The last thing he wants to do on his day off is go to the grocery store. Heheee. I have desk burnout with a mild case of computerphobia. Last week, the only thing I did on the computer at home was check the weather. And I had to do that on Kurt's iPod Touch because the laptop wouldn't recharge. *sigh*

Alright, that's enough ranting and raving out of me. Kids are now awake and I'm gonna go make some bacon and eggs. :-)
