Oh boyyy!
3:30 a.m.
Yesterday night I caught a bug... the shopping bug. I've been online "shopping" like crazy. I haven't actually pulled the plastic out yet but it's been tempting. I abandoned another cart just a few minutes ago. Humor me... it's not Christmas yet but here's what's been on the shopping list in the past 24 hours:
1. Canon Speedlite 580EX (i.e. a new flash for my Canon EOS 20D) I want it!!! I need it! I can't go on without it. $380 smackers. :( Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!?!!!!!!!!!!????!!! The gods are against me.
2. A buttload of photo paper... gotta restock that supply that actually won't run out for yet another 6-8 months. LOL! Gotta have the matte, gotta have the premium semi gloss, gotta have the... what's wrong with me?
3. Chest dressers for the kids. It's a shame there aren't any places in town to buy decent ones. I'd have gotten them already because we need them bad! Living in AK sucks because every online store refuses to ship here. They'll ship overseas but not to me? What's up with that?! I really do need one for Orion though. His dresser is from before he was born and it was just a cheap Sauder particle board thing I probably got from KMart for $80. It is down to 1 drawer left. LOL KMart is gone so I tried Walmart. Nada.
4. Sectional couch... another furniture selection. Again, too bad I'll never find one in town that I like. This is the only thing that saves my wallet. I want another couch because I want to put the ones in the living room right now into the family room. They're pretty worn out looking and it's time to move on I think. I even gave them extra special treatment tonight by putting a glass jar candle on a candle warmer and about half an hour later, it popped and sprayed wax on the big couch. I didn't do it on purpose, I swear!
5. ATG Gun... yeah, i'm convinced (not that it was hard). I couldn't press submit order because it would've cost close to $19 to ship. I plugged in just for the actual tape refills and that is $16! Does that mean I'll possibly never be able to afford to refill the gun? I decided to wait and make sure these could possibly be a widespread epidemic so that I might be able to get refills locally. When was the last time you waited a week for your adhesive to show up so you could actually scrap? When was the last time shipping for some tape cost more than the shirt on your back? ;-)
6. MagicScraps Scrappy Tape. I am in pursuit of this stuff again. I use this like I use butter... slather it everywhere. Last time I ordered it online, the two plastic wrapped bottles came exploded in the box ruining everything else I bought. Can't find it in town, though and I must have it. I adhere all of my paper to the cardstock with this glue. I can't trust the little tabs to be responsible holding everything together. I actually found some at Joann.com so I'm going to stop by the local Joann's and threaten them to get some. What else do they expect me to put on my toast?
7. A new fangled printer. What for I don't know. I like my Epson wide format but it's getting old and dingy. I keep it on the floor so it accumulates lots of dust bunnies. Still prints great but I gotta see what new technology has done in the past 3 years. I'm missing out on something I'm sure. "What was that? Did you hear that? It's a buzz! Listen!" Classic case of technology paranoia.
8. Clothes clothes clothes... for me, for kids, for everyone! Chalk it up to the weather. Cold weather makes me want to be warm. Being warm requires some clothing (and heating fuel but I'm just going to hide the $400 fuel bill we got the other day LOL. Put on a sweater!
9. A new receiver or home theater system. We have this clunker of a 5 disc DVD player/receiver and it drives me absolutely crazy! Takes like half an hour to load up a dvd. We have other dvd players we could hook up to the primary tv but I can't convince dh to do it because then we wouldn't have the surround sound. *eyeroll* I just want to be able to open the damn drive and stick a dvd in. Tonight I put a movie in and I had to turn the thing off 4 times before I could get it to open one of the freaking trays! Have you ever heard a disc changer? It's especially irritating when you hear the parts inside moving around and the electronic read out says "open tray 2" and yet you wait with baited breath for what seems like 8 hours (more like 30 seconds in real time) and nothing happens. Patience is a virtue, I know but I have other reasons... like how it freezes up on dvd's because it has the tiniest smudge. Brand new movies even! Grrr! I had to stop taking it out on the video store and just accept the fact that it's a finicky you know what. LOL
10. Anything spontanous and totally a non-essential item. rofl. This includes holiday items (the Avon Christmas tree lights remote Santa I bought last week... uhmmm, we never turn the tree off really so what the heck do I need a remote for?) and sheets, bedding, throws, cleaning gadgets, cable or satellite tv, toys, rugs, new carpeting, refrigerator, lamps, beauty stuff, etc. I could go on... am I just being lured in by subliminal shopping advertisements? That whole holiday time thing? I dunno.
I am abstaining from shopping for the next 8 hours at least... but i'll be shopping in my dreams. :)
